Donor Bill of Rights Privacy Policy

Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving
and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To assure that philanthropy merits the
respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can
have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to
support, we declare that all donors have these rights:


I. To be informed of the organization’s mission, of the way the organization intends to
use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended
purposes.
II. To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization’s governing board,
and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
III. To have access to the organization’s most recent financial statements.
IV. To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
V. To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.
VI. To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with
confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
VII. To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of
interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
VIII. To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the
organization or hired solicitors.
IX. To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that an
organization may intend to share.
X. To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful
and forthright answers.

Personal Information Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy is important to New Directions Housing Corporation. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our practices with regards to personal information.

We collect only information provided voluntarily to us for the purposes of communication or mailed solicitation for the work of New Directions Housing Corporation. We do not share or sell donor information with or to any other organization or entity. Donor information collected in fundraising records is used only for accounting purposes, acknowledgement of gifts and possible future gift requests. If you do not wish to receive mail or solicitations from New Directions, or would like for your gift to be entered as Anonymous‚ please note this with your donation. Donors and volunteers may review or correct information on file by calling our Resource Development team at 502-719-7169, or email your request to davids@ndhc.org. If you are currently on our mailing list and would like to change your contact information or mailing status, you may use this same phone number or email.

Website Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy is important to New Directions Housing Corporation. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices.

Our privacy policy is simple: we collect no personal information about you unless you choose to provide that information to us when you correspond with, volunteer with, or donate to us. We collect and store the information you provide in a secure database. 

New Directions Housing Corporation will never give, share, sell, rent, or transfer your personal information to any other company, third party, or list reseller. New Directions Housing Corporation may email you announcements we believe you might be interested in. However, if you do not want to receive information from New Directions Housing Corporation, or wish to update your personal information, please email cdo@ndhc.org to update your personal contact preferences.

When you browse New Directions Housing Corporation’s website, you are able to do so anonymously. We also use a tool called Google Analytics to collect information about use of this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, and not your name or other identifying information.  Google Analytics collects other information such as how often users visit this site, and what pages they visit when they do so. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.

We use the information we get from Google Analytics as aggregate data only to improve this site. For example, by examining the number of visitors that view different sections of our site, or analyzing what device visitors use to view our site, we are able to make our site more accessible and useful.  

We will never (and will not allow any third party to) use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any personally identifiable information of visitors to our site.
