On September 10^th, New Directions will participate in the Community Foundation of Louisville’s annual Give for Good Louisville day. Each year, the Community Foundation spotlights hundreds of non-profits from around Louisville in celebration of the amazing work being done every day in our city, creating opportunities for giving and connection that will fuel that work for the year to come. 

Supporting New Directions with a gift through Give for Good enables New Directions to continue the work we’ve been doing since 1971.  Your gift:

• Makes the critical home repairs that enable a homeowner to safely age in place with dignity.
• Preserves affordable housing for families in need of stable, safe permanent housing.
• Strengthens neighborhoods by investing in homes, along with the people who call them home.
• Breaks down barriers that stand between a family and economic success.

Too many of our neighbors face housing insecurity every day. A recent study suggests that as many as 29,000 homes in Louisville are in need of critical repairs to remain safe for their homeowners. And the city’s housing needs assessment estimates that Louisville needs an additional 36,000 housing units for families earning 30% or less of the Area Median Income (around $23,000 for a family of two).

These are enormous challenges, but they are not insurmountable and, for more than 50 years, New Directions has been on the front lines of the fight to ensure that every Louisvillian has a place to call home.
